Realisation

Hello,
So today I want to talk about something that I have realised recently. I have been rushing around doing multiple things, from promotions at work to football coaching, family life and of course writing.
I read something on Twitter (yes, I still call it that) about writing in general and who you are writing for. I realised that of course I am writing to tell other people my stories and I love when someone reads them and enjoys it, and sometimes doesn’t enjoy it but luckily I haven’t had too much of that. But to the point, I write for myself.
I’ve said before that I am a slow writer, I am getting faster but I am still slow by most people’s schedules that I have seen. I have no idea how some of you write so much so quickly, it’s amazing and I commend you but you are crazy.
Anyway, to get back to the point. I write essentially for myself. I enjoy getting swept up in the stories I write and seeing where the characters go. (Yes, I am one of those people that go with the characters. I know it’s my brain, but whatever.)
So, going forward I won’t be keeping myself to strict timelines. I seem to work better without them anyway. I have released a novella and the first book of my series so far, and that is more than I thought I’d ever do anyway. I also have book 2 in the series ready to go, I just need to figure out a release date. Originally it was July and now September, but that will probably change as well. I have lots of plans for this series and for other books. I just don’t want to pressure myself into rushing anything. I want to put out the best story I can within reason and let you all debate it, love it or hate it.
So, look out for a date soon for Book Two of The BrightStone Saga - Shadows of Kankor!
All my links are here:
Check out Book One in the series here: https://books2read.com/u/bOdJOK
I also have a novella called ‘Betrayal’ that is set directly after the events in the prologue from ‘Aurora’. Check it out here: https://books2read.com/u/4j7odl
I would love you to read them. If you do, please leave a review, as it helps me out massively.
Happy reading and thanks,
Lee
