Hi everyone!

So…

I finally found some time to write, not much but some. I took a week off work and spent some good time with the family and enjoyed a glorious week of sunshine which was more than needed.

I also managed to get a few bits done around the house which is another thing altogether. Filled, sanded and painted two bathrooms and started on the kitchen and a bit of a tidy, so making some good progress.

But I digress, this is a writing blog, so let's get back to that.

Sword is still not where I want it to be but I’m creeping up on the 50% mark which makes me happy and that is normally the hard part for most writers. That middle slog of keeping the story going with enough interest and action or romance to keep the reader engaged. Luckily I have an outline so I just need to get it down and on the page. I personally think the story is good otherwise I don’t think I would be writing it, but this section is dragging and I think my lack of writing lately as well as the time factor has also come down to a little bit of impostor syndrome. I’ve found myself sitting down and not wanting to write the next scene because it won’t be good enough, that I wouldn’t be good enough. It’s either that or I’m afraid of what the story might become. What the characters I have created might do (yes I know it’s my imagination, but you know how they act).

The nomad in Sword might just decide to change stance and do something completely crazy. This could be a good thing, who knows?

But my plan is to finish Sword before I even get back to book 3 of The BrightStone Saga. I don’t want to be pulled away from this story again even if I want to get back to telling the stories of Antar. I want to tell the story of my Bacca, my tired and beaten down soldier for hire that just happens to wield a katana. I want to see where this story goes and if it leads to more after that.

Anyway, that’s it for now. Keep an eye out for more updates coming soon on Sword and when I finally start Book 3.

As always, my links are here:

Happy reading and if you like my books I would appreciate it massively if you would leave a review. It really does help me get seen out in the bottomless pit of the publishing world.

Thanks again,

Lee
